Hydrotherapy: Therapy that uses warm water combined with exercise to ease painful muscles and joints. Being in the water reduces pressure on joints, making it easier to perform many exercises.
Hypnosis: Also called hypnotherapy when used for treatment. Hypnosis is a focused state of consciousness that allows the patient to better process information. In general, hypnosis is used to control physical function or response, that is, the amount of pain an individual can withstand. Patients enter a trancelike state, where they are more able to relax or concentrate, or are more responsive to suggestion.
